TRIPTYCH - passing generations
A second triptych of images from my visit to Cromer Pier. Some of the time I just sat on a bench and waited for the shot to come to me. Can the ethics of this approach be questioned? Yes, I photograph surreptitiously, candidly, but my sole aim is to capture the unremarkable which can often be remarkable. I have no desire to photograph disturbing scenes of hardship such as people living on the streets. What I'm capturing is a split second of perfectly natural behaviour. The only passers-by who in any way appeared to notice my camera were the children and a dog! Or perhaps they didn't even notice the camera, just an old guy relaxing in the sun. No harm done I think.
